Duration: 30 min

Warm-up · Prime the case (5 min, solo)

Two quick drills that use language from Unit 4: (A) a supplier comparison sentence, and (B) a 1st-conditional trade.

Drill 1 — Say the comparison

Read each pair of numbers out loud. Then write ONE sentence with a comparative or superlative.

  1. Supplier A: €3.20 / jar · Supplier B: €4.10 / jar

  2. Delivery: A = 10 days · B = 3 days · C = 7 days

  3. Warranty: A = 6 months · B = 12 months

Drill 2 — Trade a concession

Rewrite each request as a professional 'if you…, we can…' trade.

  1. The client wants 12% off. You'll give 6%.

  2. The supplier wants payment in 15 days. You need 45.

  3. The buyer wants free labelling. You want a bigger order.

Bridge to the case → Two moves the case will demand: (a) a clear comparison of three supplier quotes; (b) a polite counter-offer that trades concessions instead of just dropping the price.
