Two quick drills that use language from Unit 2: (A) a 3-sentence company story in past simple, and (B) two comparatives to choose between options.

Drill 1 — 3-sentence company story

Imagine you are the founder of a small coffee roastery. Write your 3-sentence story: (1) what you do, (2) since when + one number, (3) one thing that is different this year.

  1. Sentence 1 (what you do):

  2. Sentence 2 (since when + one number):

  3. Sentence 3 (something new this year):

Drill 2 — 2 comparatives to decide

You have two options for new packaging. Write ONE full sentence for each comparison.

  1. Bag A: €0.35, plastic-lined. Bag B: €0.52, fully compostable. (price)

  2. Bag A: 4.0 star review, Bag B: 4.7. (customer feedback)

  3. Lead time A: 3 days. Lead time B: 4 weeks. (lead time)

Bridge to the case → Two moves the case will demand: (a) a clean, honest 3-sentence pitch of a small business to a big possible partner; (b) choosing between two suppliers where the cheaper one isn't automatically the winner.
