- ›Mid position (before the main verb, after be / auxiliaries) for frequency and certainty.
- ›End position for manner, place and time, in that order.
- ›Front position for comment and linking adverbs: Frankly, … / However, …
- ›only and even go directly before what they modify.
Examples
- “She has definitely read the brief.”
- “They handled the complaint calmly at the desk this morning.”
- “Only the finance team saw the figures.”
