Carla:Hey, how are you? I feel so tired this week.

Quentin:Oh no. Are you sleeping well?

Carla:Not really — a lot of work.

Quentin:You should really sleep 8 hours and you shouldn't work on Saturday. Would you like a quiet brunch on Sunday, and a walk in the park after?

Carla:That sounds perfect. Thank you.

4. Role-play

Plan a weekend & take care of a friend

Two mini role-plays:

  1. Plan a weekend together — one person is very busy and changes the plan once. Use 'How about…?' at least twice.
  2. A friend calls saying they are tired and stressed. Ask 2 questions, give 3 pieces of advice ('should' / 'shouldn't') and end with an invitation.

5. Reflection (discursive)

Write your answer in 2–3 full sentences

  1. Think about your OWN energy this week. Write 3 sentences: how you actually feel (in English, not just 'fine'), ONE small thing that helped, and ONE small thing you should do MORE of.
  2. Write ONE piece of advice you'd give your best friend if they told you they were stressed and not sleeping — and ONE piece of advice you'd give YOURSELF. Be specific.
