- ›-ing after prepositions, and after avoid, involve, risk, recommend, consider.
- ›to + verb after aim, agree, refuse, manage, afford, tend, promise.
- ›verb + object + to: allow / advise / persuade someone to do.
- ›Meaning change: remember / forget / regret / go on / mean.
- ›Perfect infinitive: seems to have improved. Passive gerund: being asked.
Examples
- “They recommended outsourcing the support desk.”
- “We can't afford to delay the launch.”
- “I remember signing it — I forgot to file it.”
